This is one of my favorite weeks of the year here at FAU, as many students return to campus to move in to their residence halls. New first-year students moved into the Jupiter campus yesterday and into the Boca Raton campus today. Upperclassmen on both campuses will join us tomorrow.
I enjoyed personally welcoming many of our new students and their families, as I offered a hand during the move-in process. I appreciate all of the other faculty and staff who came out to greet our new Owls, as well.
I look forward to formally welcoming our first-year students at Freshman Convocation on Sunday, August 18 at 1 p.m. This important rite of passage marks the beginning of a student’s college career and connects them to each other and to the university. All students are encouraged to take part in the “Weeks of Welcome” events scheduled on all campuses. Events include the Welcome Carnival tonight on the Boca Raton Housing Lawn; our 15th annual Day of Service on Saturday, August 24; and College Colors Day, a nation-wide celebration of the kick-off of intercollegiate athletics, on Friday, August 30. Welcome to FAU, Class of 2023! Go Owls!
