In spring 2014, 16-year-old Grace Bush made national news when she graduated from FAU with a degree in criminal justice, magna cum laude, one week BEFORE getting her high school diploma. Now 18, Grace is making news again, along with her 19-year-old sister Gabrielle. Both received master’s degrees in public administration during our spring commencement ceremonies. Grace is now the youngest person to begin a Ph.D. program in FAU history.

Grace and Gabrielle are just two of nine gifted Bush children. Their older sister, Gisla, also an alumna, was the youngest student to enroll in our Master of Urban and Regional Planning program at age 19. Their youngest sibling, age 2, is already learning the alphabet and playing the violin.

I’d like to commend the entire Bush family for their commitment to academic excellence, and especially proud parents Bobby and Gisla Bush for raising such remarkable children. I look forward to following the accomplishments of all the Bush children in the future.
