Today, the Board of Trustees approved the University’s budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year, based on the legislature’s Friday passage of the General Appropriations Act. I’m happy to report the outlook is positive for Florida Atlantic University. Most important is the fact that instead of facing performance funding cuts, as we did last year, we will receive a share of the $150 million that’s earmarked for the high-performing SUS institutions. This will amount to about $11.3 million in one-time funding for FAU. Compared to the $7 million withheld from our budget last year, there’s real cause for optimism. We’re already beginning to reap the benefits of our new strategic plan!
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Together, we are moving in the right direction and showing we are playing to win!
Go Owls!
Sincerely,
John Kelly
President
