A year’s worth of hard work designing, building and testing a racing car paid off when our team placed among the top 25 competitors at the recent 2015 Formula SAE event at Michigan International Speedway. Out of 118 teams from universities around the world, FAU finished 24th overall, beating schools such as Duke, Cornell, Clemson, Columbia, Penn State, Northwestern and Purdue. The performance marked an all-time high for the FAU chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), which has been participating in the race for many years.
In celebrating the victory, team captain Christian Caracci said, “The 2015 competition has put FAU on the map as a powerful competitor amongst the top 25 Formula SAE teams in the world. This is the result of unprecedented university and sponsor support, brilliant design and manufacturing insight, and effective team building. Over the last 12 months I have been very fortunate to lead the very best team FAU could produce. Our 2015 accomplishments mark a promising starting point, not an arrival. I expect great things of Owls Racing in 2016 and beyond.”
Well said, Christian! Go Formula SAE Owls!
