This is a great week for higher education in Florida. On Monday, we had the pleasure of hosting Gov. Rick Scott on FAU’s Boca Raton campus. He ceremonially signed HB 7019, a bill that will make higher education in our state more affordable.

In addition to creating greater clarity regarding the cost of college, the law requires Florida colleges and universities to adopt policies that make textbooks more affordable. The bill also requires the Board of Governors and the state Board of Education to annually study and make recommendations on how to make college more affordable, among other requirements.
