Tonight, the FAU Alumni Association will host its annual Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni Ceremony and Reception, recognizing some of FAU’s most outstanding alumni for their exceptional service and commitment to their profession or the community.
I will have the pleasure of inducting Arthur C. Evans Jr., Ph.D., B.S. ’82, M.A. ’84 into the Alumni Hall of Fame. Dr. Evans is chief executive officer of the American Psychological Association, the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States. Previously, he was commissioner of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Service, a billion-dollar health care agency that serves one-point-five million Philadelphians.
Past Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni honorees include a congressman, a senator, an ambassador, a NASA astronaut, an Emmy-winning news anchor, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, a Grammy-winning musician and two Broadway stars, as well as business executives, scientists, artists, educators, healthcare professionals, engineers and more.
