Our men’s basketball team scored a slam dunk this month when Michael Curry signed on as head coach. Coach Curry is an NBA veteran who played professionally for 11 years and was head coach of the Detroit Pistons. Even more important to all of us at FAU is the fact that he has a deep understanding of the role college athletics should play in molding well-rounded student-athletes.

“He cares about the development of student-athletes academically, athletically and socially,” Director of Athletics Pat Chun said at the press conference announcing Coach Curry’s appointment. “He will create a culture of leadership and excellence in our program.”
