In just its fifth year in existence, FAU’s beach volleyball team, also known as the Sandy Owls, is nationally ranked! The team earned its first-ever ranking on March 20, in the No. 15 spot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll, following a 16-game winning streak.

On April 4, the team of Nicole Grant and Nicole Navarro was named DiG Magazine National Pair of the Week, after defeating pairs from No. 3 UCLA and No. 12 Arizona State at the FIU Surf and Turf Invitational in Miami. The Sandy Owls have been ranked as high as No. 14 in the AVCA poll and are currently No. 15.

The team’s record is 18-9 with one tournament left in the regular season. Best of luck to the beach volleyball team as they travel to Georgia for the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association tournament on April 22 and 23!
