Today, the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine celebrated Match Day, an important rite of passage for medical students nationwide. High-fives, hugs and happy tears filled the room as the Class of 2018 ripped open their envelopes to reveal where they will spend the next few years of medical training as residents.
More than one-third of the class will remain in Florida for their residencies. The Class of 2018 also placed in several top institutions nationally including Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston; Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, New Hampshire; Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania; Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.; Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina; Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia; and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.
Congratulations to the Class of 2018 on being one step closer to becoming practicing physicians! Go, Med Owls!
