Today, FAU welcomes more than 1,000 students from 26 universities in the southeastern U.S., Puerto Rico and China for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 2017 Southeast Student Conference. I’m delighted that we are able to showcase our beautiful Boca Raton campus and surrounding city to some of the brightest aspiring engineers in our region.

Hosted by the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, this year’s ASCE conference highlights green construction and sustainable materials. Conference attendees will participate in technical presentations, social activities and competitions designed to showcase their knowledge, including concrete canoe, concrete Frisbee, steel-bridge building and more.
