The FAU softball season is underway, and the Owls begin the defense of their Conference USA regular season title with a home opener against Georgia. Last year, the Owls won their second Conference USA regular season title in three years, and their 12th in program history. The team received their championship rings during halftime of the FAU-FIU basketball game on January 23.
FAU returns five starters from last year’s team, including pitcher Mia Olson and outfielder Madisyn Palmer, who were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Also returning is the 2018 C-USA Coach of the Year Joan Joyce, who is celebrating her 25th season coaching the Owls. Coach Joyce is the only head coach FAU softball has had in its 25-season history.
