FAU Alumnus Honored with Prestigious CPA Exam Award
BOCA RATON, FL (December 7, 2010) – Florida Atlantic University announced that alumnus Jeremy Hurwitch has been honored with the prestigious 2009 Elijah Watt Sells Award for his outstanding performance on the national Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
The award is presented to the top 10 CPA candidates who achieve the highest cumulative scores for all four sections of the exam on their first attempt. More than 85,000 individuals took the 2009 exam alongside Hurwitch.
“I am really proud to represent FAU on a national level,” said Hurwitch. “I owe a lot of my success to having the opportunity to learn from the outstanding professors at FAU. The school is a great institution from which to receive a master’s degree in accounting.”

Hurwitch’s accomplishments at FAU include being selected as the School of Accounting’s “Student of the Year,” serving as president of Beta Alpha Psi honorary organization, and being an instrumental player in establishing the Accounting Scholars Program Honor Code and mentoring program.
