Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center Hosts
‘Keep Memories Alive, A Black Tie Walk Affair’

BOCA RATON, FL (October 12, 2007) – The Caring Hearts Auxiliary of the Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center at Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing will hold its annual “Keep Memories Alive” walk on Sunday, November 4, at Town Center at Boca Raton. The walk will benefit participants of the Memory and Wellness Center, which offers innovative programs of care to help individuals who have mild and moderate memory loss to maintain their cognitive and social interactive skills within a supportive and nurturing environment.

The walk is themed “Keep Memories Alive, a Black Tie Walk Affair.” Participants will walk in traditional walking attire while experiencing a black tie event. Chairs Karen Hoffheimer and Debbie Lindstrom and their committee selected the theme to compliment the upscale Town Center and to honor the elegant 1930’s era when many of the Memory and Wellness Center’s participants were in their youth.

“We thought it would be fun to do something different,” said Hoffheimer. “Walkers of all ages will enjoy our theme. They will experience a very unique event, complete with a harpist, to entertain them.   Morgan Green, our theme chair, is planning some wonderful surprises that we are keeping under our top hats.”

“The funds we raise from the walk will benefit the adult day center at the Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center. The center is the most comprehensive facility of its kind in South Florida and receives more than 8,000 visits a year,” said Lindstrom.   “The Caring Hearts Auxiliary is pleased to be able to provide this assistance. We are looking forward to another successful walk to continue this important program. We hope everyone will join us for this fun, but very important community event.”

Registration for the walk is free. Walkers who raise a minimum of $25 will receive the Keep Memories Alive “black tie” T-shirt.   The top six fundraisers will earn special prizes, including a weekend for two at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, golf for four at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club, a weekend for two at the Boca Marriott, a Chanel gift basket, a diamond heart necklace from Sziro Jewelers, and two club seats for the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets football game with limousine service.

Sponsors for “Keep Memories Alive” are Avenue Pilates, Boca Raton Community Hospital, Classic Residences by Hyatt, Century Health Services, Dia-Care Inc., Lindstrom Air Conditioning, R & D Muller Limited, Northern Trust, Sziro Jewelers, The Bay Branch Foundation, Toshiba Business Solutions Florida, Norman Merollis, Gaetan and Elaine Richard, and Patricia Thomas.
