FAU Designates September as Safety Month
A Wide Variety of Safety Events to Take Place on FAU Jupiter
BOCA RATON , FL (September 4, 2007) – Florida Atlantic University has designated September as Safety Month and will host a series of events on the University’s campuses throughout the course of the month. Events will take place September 10-14 at FAU’s Jupiter campus, located at 5353 Parkside Drive.
“Alcohol 101” will be presented on Monday, September 10 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the SR Atrium and SR 108. Safety information displays also will be on hand to cover topics such as healthy lifestyles, personal property security, CPR, defensive driving, fire prevention, alcohol and drug abuse, date rape, and hurricane preparedness and recovery.
FAU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to take part in the festivities, which also includes an American Heart Association Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, September 11 from noon to 1 p.m. in SR 108. A fire safety and extinguisher training session will take place on Wednesday, September 12 at 10 a.m. in SR 108.
