New Graduate Student Orientation

Welcome to the Graduate College at FAU! It is our goal to help you make a smooth transition into graduate studies and to ensure your success as a graduate student. Our Graduate Student Orientations for newly enrolled students are held prior to the start of each academic semester, giving you the opportunity to meet other incoming students and learn more about graduate life at FAU.

Led by the Graduate College, with assistance from the Graduate Student Association, the program will include what to expect as a graduate student, academic and social opportunities, graduate student policies and procedures, and information on available student services.

Note: Please be aware that some academic programs also offer orientation sessions for new graduate students and are NOT intended to replace the Graduate Student Orientation. These additional sessions provide program-specific information while the Graduate Student Orientation provides a general overview of FAU graduate education.

Please select a semester below for more information about upcoming New Graduate Student Orientation. Contact Jordan Hession at jhession@fau.edu with any questions about orientation.

If reasonable accommodation(s) for a disability is required, contact Jordan Hession at jhession@fau.edu. Please make your needs known at least five days prior to the event for effective accommodations.

If you are an individual with a disability and need accommodations please register for services with Student Accessibility Services (SAS). Details on how and where to register for services can be found on the SAS website https://www.fau.edu/sas/future/index.php. All students must complete the Application for Support Services and submit with documentation of their disability on the online portal. SAS will process the application and contact the student to schedule an intake interview to discuss their accommodation needs. SAS requires that this information be provided at least two weeks prior to the beginning of your Graduate College Meeting, so that we have sufficient time to set up the accommodations requested.
