Dr. DaLaine Chapman is an active adjudicator and conductor/clinician having presented at numerous clinics and conferences nationwide. Her research interests include music teacher evaluation and assessment as well as the supervision of student teachers.
Her professional experience includes both teaching and administration. Dr. Chapman was the Music Resource Teacher for the Brevard (Florida) Public School District where she worked with over 85 public schools serving approximately 75,000 students. Prior to that appointment she taught band and orchestra at the secondary level where her ensembles consistently received superior ratings in the Marching, Concert, and Jazz divisions of the Florida Bandmasters Association and Florida Orchestra Association Music Performance Assessments.
Her professional affiliations include the Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators Association, The National Association for Music Education, and the National Band Association. She is also an invited member of Phi Beta Mu, the prestigious International Band Fraternity. She holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education from The Florida State University and a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. Teachers throughout her career include Robert Duke, Judith Jellison, Eugenia Costa-Giomi, Laurie Scott, Clifford Madsen, James Croft, Joseph Kreines, and Michael P. Leclerc.
