Teaching in the Age of Generative AI
FAU’s Boca Raton Campus will host the 2024 Teaching with Technology Showcase on March 18, 2024.
Presentations that address the theme "Where Innovation Meets Education: Teaching in the Age of Generative AI" encourage participants to take a deep dive into the world of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it is revolutionizing higher education.
This day-long symposium, aimed at university faculty across all disciplines, sheds light on the transformative power of AI in the educational domain. From leveraging AI to improve teaching and learning experiences to harnessing its potential for academic support, this symposium promises a comprehensive exploration of cutting-edge AI tools, techniques, and debates.

Kevin Yee, Ph.D.
Kevin Yee joined the University of Central Florida Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning as its director in 2022. Prior to that, he was the director of the teaching center at the University of South Florida for 10 years. He has held 9-month faculty positions at Duke University, Pomona College, the University of Iowa, and the University of California–Irvine.
Kevin earned his Ph.D. in German Literature from UC Irvine in 1997. He has taught a wide range of German language and culture courses, as well as courses in general humanities, film, and cultural studies, with a particular emphasis on popular culture. Recent classes include Interpreting Marvel’s Avengers, Critical Analysis of the Harry Potter Movies, Princess Fairy Tales, and Deconstructing Walt Disney World.
Kevin believes the science of learning provides a crucial foundation for instructors in the classroom, influencing everything from course design and assessment structure to classroom management and lesson planning. More recently, he has focused on developing resources for faculty related to AI fluency and how to use generative AI, such as ChatGPT, in the college classroom. He has been an invited speaker on these and other topics in pedagogy both domestically and internationally.
The event will take place at the Schmidt Family Complex (SFC) in the College of Business Executive Education building (#103) on the Boca Raton Campus. The following floor plan highlights the spaces that will be used for the event.
