Soar-in-4 Reception Welcomes New Student Scholars
Monday, Nov 06, 2023During the recent Soar-in-4 Reception, the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice welcomed back scholars who are continuing on as well as our newest members in the program. Those in attendance included:
- Autumn Morant
- Avairia Smith-Kent
- Camille Cancia
- Cassidy Chapman
- Jaylee Beltran
- Jazmine Rendon
- Madison Coddington
- Rickaylia Clarke
- Samantha Wolk
- Shanel Robles
- Suron Draden
- Zoey Cipollone
At the celebration, student scholars made new friends, recited the Soar-In-4 pledge and met their faculty mentors, Precious Skinner-Osei, Ph.D., MSW, and Sigal Rubin, MSCCJ. Students are inducted into the program, by invitation only based on academic merit, and commit to graduating in four years or less and participating in career-readiness activities. Scholars also conduct undergraduate research, participate in experiential learning opportunities related to their future professions and serve as Social Work and Criminal Justice student ambassadors at various campus events. Hats off to Sandra ("Sandy") Jakubow, student advisor and Soar-in-4 program coordinator, for planning a memorable celebration!
