Meet Your New NASW-FL MSW Student Representative, Pamela Brooks
Friday, Nov 17, 2023Pamela Brooks has been named the MSW Student Representative on the Steering Committee for the Florida Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). NASW is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. In this role, Brooks serves as the liaison between NASW-FL and the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work, and the point person for her fellow students as they pursue graduation and NASW membership.
Brooks elaborated on the many reasons she believes students should get involved with NASW before they graduate, touting such benefits as a deeper understanding of their future career path in the field, opportunities to pursue advocacy, networking with professionals, and engaging in meaningful community activities.
“To be a part of a professional organization dedicated to advancing the social work profession positions me to evolve to be the best at what I do and to bring about social change to impact individual lives and communities,” said Brooks. “I am very excited to be a part of the NASW Florida Chapter so I can continue to grow as an advocate and an agent of change within the social work arena and promote the values and mission of the organization.”
