National Institute of Mental Health Names CHIPS Fellow

Dr. Morgan Cooley, Associate Professor in the SSW, has received the competitive CHIPS (Child Intervention, Prevention, and Services) fellowship, which was created to support researchers in the areas of intervention, prevention, and the provision of services for children and adolescents. This year-long fellowship is funded through the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Division of Services and Intervention Research (DSIR). Cooley will participate in a one-week training institute in May, where she will present on some of her exciting research on the importance of quality training to prepare foster caregivers to support youth mental health. In addition, with ongoing mentorship from CHIPS faculty, she will develop and submit an NIMH grant proposal and participate in ongoing educational seminars over the next year.
