CJ Student Receives University Scholar Award
Wednesday, Jun 09, 2021Mariya Josiah, undergraduate CJ student, was recently named the 2020-21 University Scholar for the College of Social Work & Criminal Justice and received a $1,000 scholarship during the Spring Honors Convocation! Here’s what Dr. Seth Fallik had to say in his nomination letter about working with Josiah during their Directed Independent Study: “Mariya has a superior ability to articulate nuanced but critical differences in the law, and her work contributed to several manuscripts for peer-review publication [that will] seek to guide legislatures toward revenge porn and sexual assault laws that are more consistent with how these crimes are perpetrated.” Josiah has a stellar 3.98 GPA and wishes to pursue a career in evidence-based policing.
