The College of Social Work and Criminal Justice at Florida Atlantic University, in collaboration with Florida Atlantic's Office of Information Technology and Office of Government Relations, is taking a bold step forward in tracking and showcasing its impact in the community with the launch of the Community Engagement Impact Dashboard. This cutting-edge, interactive online platform utilizes GIS mapping and real-time data visualization to bring clarity, transparency, and strategy to the college's extensive array of community engagement efforts.

Inspired by global best practices and built with scalable web technology, the dashboard allows users to visually explore the scope, reach, and impact results of student, faculty, and institutional partnerships in real-time. Whether it's service-learning, faculty research, or strategic partnerships, the dashboard highlights how our college is making a measurable difference for the communities we serve.

Why It Matters

  • Empowers Stakeholders – Faculty, staff, students, and community members can view the full breadth of engagement initiatives across regions and timeframes.
  • Drives Strategic Decisions – Insights help align resources, inform grant proposals, and identify trends for stronger, smarter engagement.
  • Supports Florida Atlantic's Mission – This tool showcases our commitment to social responsibility, applied research, and data-informed innovation.
  • Strengthens Grant Applications – With detailed impact data, faculty can more effectively secure funding and deepen external collaborations

Backed by strong support from both the college and the university's Office of Government Relations, this initiative is designed to not only streamline data collection and reporting but to elevate how we tell the story of our impact on our communities and beyond.

As we continue to refine and expand the dashboard, it has the potential to become a university-wide model for innovation in community engagement and measurable impact.
