500+ Students Attend Virtual ‘LEAD’ Event

More than 500 students from across Florida participated in the National Association of Social Workers Legislative Education and Advocacy Day last week. The event was entirely virtual this year and well attended by BSW and MSW students from the Sandler School, shepherded by faculty members Drs. LeaAnne DeRigne and Dani Groton . Students received training on legislative advocacy strategies, bills that impact the profession and their future clients, participated in virtual meetings with legislators, and listened in on Florida House and Senate committees as they debated important legislation.
