Crystal McDougle, Sandler School MSW candidate, was recently named Student of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Broward unit. She is in her specialist year of the Master of Social Work program and plans to graduate this May.
"Winning this award is an honor and fills me with gratitude,” McDougle said. “I am genuinely grateful to collaborate with my colleagues, faculty, staff, and supervisors on my journey.”
After graduation, McDougle will pursue her LCSW licensure to work with youth and adolescents. She hopes to, one day, return to school for her Ph.D. in social work to study systems, such as education and criminal justice, as they relate to systemic narratives and equity.
“Learning and developing in the field can sometimes be challenging,” McDougle said. “As a student, this award is encouraging to show you can truly make a difference simultaneously in the process of growth."
