STUDENT UNION ESPORTS ARENA AND GAMING CENTER

The Florida Atlantic Esports Arena and Gaming Center is the premier gaming center on the Florida Atlantic Boca Raton campus. Our high-tech environment features 30 Lenovo Legion gaming PCs boasting high-end hardware such as the RTX 4070 Super graphics card, a rotating library of today’s most popular games, and wall monitors for spectators to follow the action. Each station is furnished with a full-desk mouse pad and comfortable gaming chair. The stations also contain gaming mice, keyboards, and high-end headsets available for checkout, completely free of charge.

Looking for more gaming? The Arena also features tables for pool, ping pong, and board games, along with five 65-inch TV screens for console gaming!

The Florida Atlantic Esports Arena and Gaming Center and all of its features are available completely free of charge for any FAU student. Free checkouts are made by providing an Owl Card on arrival.

Why can't I play this PC game?

If a PC game is not free-to-play, you must already own a copy of the game to play it on our computers. For example, you can buy a game on your Steam account, then play it on our computers. We are unable to have house licenses/free licenses for paid games. However, over half of our game library is free-to-play. To save time, please have your platform’s login information ready prior to playing.

Can I request a game to be added?

Yes! Submit any suggestions for new games to faugamingcenter@fau.edu or simply tell an attendant what game you’d like to see. We add new games to the computers on a regular basis. Note that new games may take a few business days to be approved and installed. We also only have so much digital space available for our games, so we apologize if your game is not available!

Can I donate my items to the Esports Arena?

Is the Arena open to the public?

Can I host a tournament here?

Yes. The Arena is open to hosting tournaments and other organized gaming events both big and small. Please submit a request through Owl Central to book your event, or contact Student Union Event Planning for further questions at unionevents@fau.edu / 561-297-3730 . Depending on the size and extent of your production (audio/visual equipment, live-streaming, staff, etc.), fees may apply.

Esports Arena House Rules & Code of Conduct

No unsealed food or drinks
No eating or drinking (besides water from a sealed bottle)
No horseplay (play-fighting. piggy-back riding, etc)
No cheating or hacking
No harassment or hate speech of any kind
No personal external hard drives or USB drives
No screaming of profanities
No outwardly playing music from any personal device
When possible, please keep screaming to a minimum
All players must maintain acceptable levels of hygiene
Be respectful to your surrounding players and equipment
Gaming chairs are to stay within the PC gaming area
If you lose/break a piece of equipment, you will not be permitted to check out that equipment for 24 hours
Keep an eye on your belongings. The Student Union is not responsible for any lost or stolen items
