Services

The Assessment team supports the Division by providing a number of services to continuously build a culture of evidence and constant improvement. In addition to general support from the Assessment team, members within the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management can submit a service request for support specific to their departmental programs and services.

Submit a Service Request

*When submitting data for Demographic Requests, please submit data as: 1) an Excel or CSV file with one (1) tab), with NO Gaps in Rows; AND 2) with column A (Z#), column B (NetID/FAU username), and column C (Event Title/Name). If you are requesting a GPA, please specify: a) Term, b) Cumulative. (Inst./Ovr.), or c) Transfer.

Consultations (Assessment Planning/Reporting)


Provide feedback regarding event or program assessment, method reviews, survey review, reporting, and presenting data. (should be scheduled within 3 days of request)

Research Request


Assessment team works with EAB to find national, state, or peer trends for benchmarking areas specific to functional area, department, or topic (should be completed within 21 days of request)

Assessment Planning


Departmental goal setting and/or strategic planning

Assessment team creates survey in consultation with department

Data Set Request


Assessment team provides information based upon sought population (i.e. freshmen living on-campus, sophomores over 45 credit hours, etc.) (should be completed within 7-14 days of request)

  • 7 days if data set is based on:
    • Big 8 (see Demographic Information); Military status; First Generation
  • 14 days if data set concerns:
    • Specific course enrollment or completion; Multiple semesters; Graduating Student Survey

Demographic Information


Assessment team provides brief demographic report on the engagement of a set population (Big 7 – Gender, Race/Ethnicity, Classification, College, Residency, Campus/Commuter, GPA). This can also be compared to FAU population. (should be completed within 7-14 days of request)

  • 7 days if data is provided in proper format*
  • 14 days if:
    • data is NOT provided in proper format
    • seeking Overall Cumulative GPAs
    • the request includes searching for and pulling the population
    • client seeks demographic information presented in unique form: i.e. breakdown by residential hall, etc.

Data /Survey Analysis


Generally for formative data (i.e. Likert scales), the Assessment team provides general descriptive statistics (and correlations) for data set as well as an analysis and summation of data trends. Will also include Demographic Information. (should be completed within 14-21 days of request)

  • 14 days if there is only one semester of data under consideration
  • 21 days if there are multiple semesters of data under consideration

Outcomes Analysis


Generally for summative data (i.e. outcome based and open-ended), the Assessment team provides general themes, patterns, and trends for data set as well as a brief summation. (should be completed within 14-28 days of request)

Visual display of data, charts, graphs, etc. with Mission, Vision, Goals, Text Highlights & Key Ideas (Marketing Involved) should be completed within 30 days of request)

Similar to a one-pager, the Assessment team will virtually display real-time engagement and demographic data through Power BI in a variety of charts and graphs.
