Infant Investigator Session

Book your session    to participate in this study.

Infant Investigator Sessions are part of an in-person research study for 6 to 24 month olds. It focuses on the ways infants learn, reason about, and interact with events, objects, and social partners.  During the study session, your child will either watch a series of fun videos or play with you at a tabletop! During these sessions, your infant will wear a cap that contains light sensors; these light sensors allow us to monitor your infant's brain activity in a safe, non-invasive, pain-free way! Total participation time is approximately 45 minutes, and includes:

  • A 15 to 20 minute questionnaire to be completed before the appointment date.
  • A 30 minute in-person research session with an Infant Cognition Lab staff member, who will facilitate the session and possibly complete an additional questionnaire with you.
    • A neuroimaging cap will be placed on your infant, and possibly you!
    • If your infant watches videos, they will sit in front of a specialized camera that will track their eye movements.

Participation is completely voluntary, and  participants receive a $10 Amazon gift card  after completing a session. To complete this study, you will need:

  • A laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and microphone.
  • Transportation to the FAU Infant Cognition Lab
