FAU Event Memory Lab
Friday, Oct 07, 2022
We are seeking volunteers aged 60 and older for a federally funded research study on memory for events.
The Event Memory Lab investigates the effects of aging on memory for events and the people who take part in them. Volunteers will be tested on the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Jupiter campus or Boca Raton campus in a single, two-hour session. Volunteers will see a series of videos involving different people performing different actions and will then be tested on their memory for who did what in the videos. All of our lab members are fully vaccinated and will wear masks throughout the session to keep everyone safe.
The Event Memory Lab is overseen by Alan Kersten, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology and Julie Earles, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Research of the FAU Wilkes Honors College. Dr. Kersten and Dr. Earles are experts in the study of event conceptualization and memory, each having over 30 years of research experience.
