Teresa Wilcox, Ph.D., Named Interim Dean of the Schmidt College of Science
Friday, Jun 26, 2020Teresa Wilcox, Ph.D., has been named interim dean of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. Teresa served as chair and professor in the FAU Department of Psychology since 2018. She joined FAU from Texas A&M University where she was a professor and held multiple administrative positions. She earned her bachelor’s in psychology and education at Bethel University, her master’s in child development at the University of California, Davis, and her Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Wilcox has a robust research portfolio, currently, her Infant Cognition Lab focuses on topics such as infant cognition and perception, as well as the functional organization of the infant brain.
“I’m excited to take on this new role in the Schmidt College of Science. During my time at FAU and the college, I have seen the dynamic research and scholarship that takes place here that is driven by our talented students, faculty, and staff.” Teresa goes on to say, “With the recent addition of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, the college now has eight departments that comprise an array of scientific disciplines, led by experts in their respective fields. I strive to continue the culture of innovation, to prepare our students for success in research, teaching, industry, or government in this globally competitive workforce.”
