Environmental Science Research and Education Facilities
Water Analysis Laboratory
The Water Analysis Lab on FAU's Davie campus provides high quality analytical services to support environmental research done by FAU researchers and their collaborators. The lab places a strong emphasis on providing education and research opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for the determination of inorganic constituents in water and basic soils analysis. We are committed to providing hands on training to FAU students and are happy to offer training sessions and hourly user rates to graduate students interested in running their own analyses. We also welcome inquiries and suggestions for incorporating the lab's resources into classes, undergraduate research, and outreach projects.
Teaching and Research Greenhouse

Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex
This unique nature center in Boca Raton presents outstanding exhibits of tropical birds, animals, fish, sea creatures, herbs, trees, flowers, and plants. Associated with FAU, this center provides an excellent research and education adjunct.
Riverwoods
In partnership with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), the Florida Center for Environmental Studies manages a comprehensive education and research center at the Riverwoods Field Lab. Located on a remnant run of the Kissimmee River, Riverwoods is the central staging area for the SFWMD's research and monitoring of the Kissimmee River Restoration Project, a collaborative effort between the SFWMD and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. To maximize the potential of Riverwoods, CES has developed education and research programs that complement the SFWMD's needs and promote the benefits of the Kissimmee River Restoration Project.
