The Production Studio came about with a simple notion that big plans require a big workspace. With this nine workstation facility students have two major advantages over the use of conventional computer workstations: six of the Production Studio computers have 30” large ultra-sharp monitors while the other three have 20” Wacom digitizing monitors.
The 30” monitors give students enough monitor workspace to create large posters, maps, and 3D visualizations; plus, they allow students to use programs like Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Premier Pro with plenty of space for menus and tool pallets.
The Wacom monitors allow students to digitize (create digital points, lines, and polygons) by drawing directly on the screen with a stylus. This is excellent for creating site plans, mapping, and even overlaying new plans on top of digital photography.
