Master’s of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion Concentration in Exercise Physiology (Fully Online)

The Exercise Physiology concentration coursework is now offered fully online, and is only 30 Credit Hours. The program’s online offerings have allowed for maximum flexibility among students with the ability to take courses that fit one’s schedule. The innovative curriculum for the courses in this program were custom designed in collaboration with FAU’s Center for Online and Continuing Education and have received the distinction of “High-Quality.”
This 30-credit hour program can be completed in 12-18 months.
Graduate Research
Graduate students have the opportunity to work alongside experts in the field in a range of areas. Graduate students interested in research are advised that research is happening both in-person and online. Research students in this concentration should contact Michael Zourdos regarding in-person research.
Graduate Assistantships
Every semester the Department of ESHP offers more than 10 graduate assistantships. A graduate assistant will be assigned to a faculty member to assist with their teaching and/or research. Additionally, a graduate assistant will teach an undergraduate course(s). Thesis and other research can be pursued in addition to a graduate assistantship. Combined Bachelor’s to Master’s Programs
The Department of Exercise Science and Health Promotion offers two combined bachelor’s to master’s program. Bachelor’s of science students pursuing degrees in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, as well as Bachelor’s of Arts in Health Sciences students are eligible for the combined bachelor’s to master’s degree program.
In the combined degree program, 12 credit hours of graduate coursework can be taken as undergraduate electives and count toward the graduate degree. The fully online graduate degree is 30 credit hours, which means this combined program allows for students to complete their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in only five years.

Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion to Master’s of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion
Admission Requirements: Students may apply during their undergraduate junior year and will be admitted with ≥3.25 GPA.
- Students must receive a grade of “B” or higher in each graduate course taken as an undergraduate student.
- This program will enable students to complete their undergraduate and master’s degrees combined in 5 years total.
- Students in the B.S. Exercise Physiology concentration will be able to complete their bachelor’s and master’s both fully online.
Bachelor’s of Arts in Health Sciences to Master’s of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion
Admission Requirements: Students may apply during their undergraduate junior year and will be admitted with ≥3.25 GPA.
- Students must receive a grade of “B” or higher in each graduate course taken as an undergraduate student.
- This program will enable students to complete their undergraduate and master’s degrees combined in 5 years total.
