FAU President Receives Key to City of West Palm Beach

FAU and the City of West Palm Beach (WPB) recently hosted a joint press conference to announce the Engineering Research Center (ERC) for Smart Streetscapes (CS3) project, an innovative science and engineering initiative to enhance livability, safety and inclusivity in downtown WPB. The CS3 project builds upon a longstanding partnership with the city, initially developed through the West Palm Beach Mobility Intelligence Project (2019).

During the event, Mayor Keith James presented FAU President John Kelly with a key to the city as a token of appreciation for this momentous partnership.

FAU received a $26 million National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to establish the ERC in WPB and is in partnership with Columbia University, Rutgers University, the University of Central Florida and Lehman College.
