The Art and Science of Pain Management

Physicians, clinicians, researchers and others will benefit from a comprehensive conference on managing pain and addiction. On Oct.29, the Schmidt College of Medicine will host “The Art and Science of Pain Management Conference” in collaboration with Albany Medical College in New York. The program will review the latest technology, science and treatment options to treat or research pain and addiction. The conference will be held at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on FAU’s Boca Raton campus and is scheduled from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Participants will learn about the future of addiction and pain management; options for managing addiction; new treatments for pain as well as novel drug abuse medications; the impact of pain on public health; and the different mechanisms of pain to learn new methods for clinical treatment. Completion of this program will provide physicians and clinicians with vital information to offer the best care choices to their patients. For researchers, information obtained from the program will provide important background for their studies.
