The Western Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant located about 2500 light years or so away from our Solar System. The exploding star which created the Supernova exploded only about 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. This photo was created by combining 1100, 30 second pictures over several nights from Delray Beach, FL.
