Boot Camp Overview
This full-day boot camp is designed to equip both new and returning faculty administrators with essential skills and up-to-date best practices for effective leadership.
The day typically begins with a welcome from institutional leadership, setting the stage for the sessions to follow. Participants will then benefit from a panel discussion featuring current and former Chairs and Associate Deans, who will provide insights on the transition from faculty roles to administrative positions.
The agenda covers a range of critical topics, including:
- Curriculum and Program Planning: Strategies for effective program development and academic planning.
- Budget Basics: Fundamental principles of budgeting and financial management in an academic context.
- Additional Key Areas: Topics relevant to contemporary administrative challenges and responsibilities.
The boot camp will conclude with a thorough examination of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, led by the Associate General Counsel. Additionally, participants will engage in case studies and discussions focused on navigating future challenges and setting priorities.
