Florida Atlantic University Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing Celebrates 45th Anniversary
Tuesday, Apr 23, 2024Florida Atlantic University Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing celebrated its 45th anniversary as an institution of academic excellence during an event at the Boca Raton campus on Thursday, April 18. Philanthropists Christine E. Lynn, Holli Rockwell Trubinsky, and Joseph Trubinsky, FAU President Stacy Volnick, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Russell Ivy, and Interim Vice President of Institutional Advancement David Green were among the guests, along with alumni, donors, community partners, and other supporters.
The college has grown from six students in 1979 to over 1,200 today, offering baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs, on-demand professional development certificate courses, innovative research, and community outreach. Over the last four-plus decades, the college has graduated nearly 10,000 students to help address the nursing shortage locally and nationally and opened the FAU Northwest Community Health Alliance (FAU/NCHA) Community Health Center in West Palm Beach and the Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center in Boca Raton. The FAU/NCHA Community Health Center is the only university in Florida designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-A-Like by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration. Thanks to the generous support of donors, the college recently opened a state-of-the-art Advanced Nursing Simulation and Clinical Learning Laboratory at the Davie campus.
