Graduate Assistance At a Glance

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing has limited financial assistance available for graduate students. Availability varies depending on the degree program you are enrolled in (masters, DNP or PhD).

Graduate financial assistance can come in the form of College of Nursing scholarships, teaching assistantships, research assistantships, doctoral stipends (similar to an assistantship but may have additional requirements for recipients), loans, and graduate fellowships.

Assistantships

The College of Nursing has limited funding available for teaching assistantships and research assistantships for qualified masters and doctoral students. Masters students receive $15 per hour and doctoral students receive $18 per hour. Minimum time commitment is ten hours per week, up to a maximum of twenty hours per week per semester.  Depending on the hours worked, students may be available to receive tuition benefits in addition to the hourly salary. Available positions and assignments will vary each semester. For more information about the university’s assistantship and tuition benefits policy, please visit the Graduate College website:

FAFSA Application Is Available!

Students can begin filling out the FAFSA online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All applications received will be reviewed in order of receipt. When filling out the application, make sure to complete the planned housing code (on Step 6, Housing Plan, on your FAFSA form) with your appropriate housing status, since leaving this section blank could result in underfunding.

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing receives funding for several Nursing scholarships awarded for Fall and Spring semesters. The amount awarded is based on the "need" of the student as determined by the FAFSA. Please note that applicants must complete both the FAFSA and the College of Nursing applications to be considered for awards.
