Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship

Thank you for your interest in the FAU Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program. The goal of our ACGME-approved program is to educate fellows to provide impeccable and humanistic palliative care to patients of wide-ranging backgrounds while promoting variety, leadership, teaching, and scholarly work in the field of hospice and palliative medicine.

Caring for seriously ill patients and their loved ones is challenging. As medical technologies advance and further blur the boundaries between life and death, palliative care providers must be equipped to keep abreast of the changing landscape of health care, assimilate and advance scientific knowledge, and manage uncertainty. They must also be equipped to care for themselves and their colleagues.

To this end, fellows will experience a stimulating mixture of education, mentorship, clinical training, and scholarship. They will participate in a wide range of settings, from inpatient hospice units to patient homes to simulation centers to art museums.

As a young program that welcomed its first fellow in 2019, the FAU Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship is designed to be flexible based upon learner needs and interests while training all fellows to be superb and well-balanced clinicians, scholars, teachers, patient advocates, and leaders. We consider our fellows to be partners in shaping our program.

We invite you to learn more about our program and wish you the best as you embark on this next phase of your life and your career.
