Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program
Dear Applicants and Colleagues,
Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine is pleased to have an ACGME accredited Geriatric Medicine Fellowship in collaboration with the West Palm VA Medical Center (WPVAMC) and Conviva Care Centers , a large predominantly value-based primary care Geriatrics practice.
We are recruiting up to three fellows to join us in a beautiful area of the country – the "Sunshine State" - with warm winters and ready access to beautiful beaches. In Palm Beach County, the most rapidly growing segment of the population is those 85 and older. The WPVAMC serves over 62,000 Veterans among whom 70% are age 65 years and older, and has a wide spectrum of Geriatric care facilities and programs that are ideally suited for training the next generation of Geriatricians. Conviva Care Centers serve close to 200,000 older patients in Florida in over 75 primary care offices, and offer outpatient, home visit, and virtual visits to this population.
The goals of the Fellowship are to train individuals to become outstanding clinicians who can help alleviate the shortage of health professionals knowledgeable and skilled in the care of older adults in Florida as well as the U.S.; and to provide training opportunities to become clinician-educators and medical administrators, as well as opportunities to develop a focus in scholarship, quality improvement, and research.
Please take a few moments to review our rotations and curriculum, and the resources available to our fellows. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us directly.
