Biography
Dr. Elliott joined the faculty of the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in June 2020 as a Professor of Psychiatry and serves as the Chief, Consultation-Liaison Service, Delray Medical Center. Prior to joining FAU, Dr. Elliott taught and held leadership positions at the Medical College of Georgia, Medical College of Virginia and Mercer College of Medicine, where he served as the Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California – Davis, and an M.S. in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Elliott completed his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in Biophysics and his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. Dr. Elliott completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Psychiatry. He completed fellowships in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Rush-Presbyterian-St.Luke’s Medical Center and Law and Psychiatry at the Isaac Ray Center at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Dr. Elliott is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and holds certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry, the American Medical Society on Alcoholism and other Drug Dependencies and the American Board of Forensic Psychiatry.
