Student Leadership Institutes

The Student Leadership Institutes are day long programs created to enhance your leadership skills. They will prepare you to “Be the Change” for your community or organization. Leadership Institutes are facilitated by faculty, staff and current student leaders who will motivate, challenge and support you in your journey of leadership development.

Come and gain insight on:
1. Networking and community-building
2. Mentoring
3. Leadership Styles and BEST Practices
4. Managing Change
5. Civic Engagement
6. Engaging in Social Issues

Hot Topic Institutes

Hot Topic Institutes focus on leadership development and civic engagement. Topics address diverse perspectives and are presented by faculty, staff, and students.

In the past, the Hot Topic Institute focused on Voter Engagement and commitment to voting. The session was presented by key presenters and held university-wide.

Institutes are also designed with specific focus when requested, such as specific trainings held for the student leaders in the College of Medicine. This training is held annually each fall for the College's Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) executive boards.

More information on future Institutes will be shared on this page.

 Mini Leadership Institutes

The Mini-Institutes are a leadership training option developed for the leadership domain of student employee requirements (CORE). The one hour training includes networking and an overview of The Student Leadership Challenge. All material is explained within the context in how student employees can relate their development to their current position. Dates for the CORE requirements can be found on student's Canvas site as a part of their employment.

This will be a part of the New Student Employees Training on the Boca Raton Campus. Departments may request individualized Mini Leadership Institutes for their student staff.
