Meet Your Pilot Owls
Gabrielle Rind
Hi everyone, my name is Gabrielle Rind. I am currently an undergraduate sophomore here at FAU, majoring in Biology. I love to be involved here on campus as I am a part of many different organizations, one being a Pilot Owl student involvement ambassador! I have the privilege of also serving as the Associate Director for Multicultural Programming (MP) in Student Government, the Director of Membership for Best Buddies FAU, and am on the board of the Multicultural Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) as the Director of Civic Engagement. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Pilot Owls or on how to get involved, feel free to contact me by email at any time!
Dawit Rumicha
Hey everyone, my name is Dawit Rumicha and I serve as a Pilot Owl Student Involvement Ambassador! I am a junior Biological Sciences & Neuroscience dual major and am a recently accepted candidate into the Department of Biological Sciences Introduction to Honors Program. Currently I’m in debate as to what I am aspiring towards, but one thing is for sure is that I am Pre-Health. I am extremely involved on campus and serve as the Director of Multicultural Programming (MP) under the Governor’s Administrative Cabinet in Student Government. I also serve as the President for the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students/Student National Medical Association, Chapter, President of the Best Buddies International Chapter at FAU, Event Planning Chairman for HOSA: Health Occupation Students of America, and Assistant for Organic Chemistry 2. I am actively involved in Greek Life serving as Scholarship Chairman for Pi Kappa Phi within the Interfraternity Council (IFC) at FAU.
I also am a Certified Student Leader by the Weppner Center for LEAD & Service Learning. Some interesting facts about me is that I’ve traveled out of the United States multiple times and have extensive teaching experience in multiple fields anywhere from chemistry to gymnastics. In my free time, I love volunteering at humane societies or animal shelters, play lacrosse, go to the beach, and travel when the opportunity is given. I joined Pilot Owls as a way of sharing my passion for involvement along with the impact that it can make on the quality of a students college experience as a huge avenue for personal development. Always feel free to reach out to me with any questions/concerns!
Brianna Villegas-Vindiola
Hello everyone! My name is Brianna Vindiola. I am a junior here at FAU, seeking a degree in biological sciences with a focus on pre-veterinarian studies. In addition to serving as a resource for clubs and organizations on campus as a Pilot Owl, I am currently involved in an array of clubs, organizations, and programs myself. I will be serving as the assistant director of COSO in the spring of 2016, I am currently the Chief Financial officer/VP of Finance of Multicultural Association of Pre-health Students/ Student National Medical Association, the Director of Risk Management for FAU's Best Buddies International chapter, a member of Pre-Veterinary Association, previous Historian of Health Occupation Students of America and current member, and a Chartering sister of Phi Mu Fraternity. I have also previously been involved in Housing and Residential Education as a resident assistant (R.A). I hope to work with wild life in my professional future, my dream is to become a zoo veterinarian. Some of my hobbies include snorkeling, deep sea and cave diving as well as long walks on the beach (literally) volunteering with Gumbo Limbo's sea turtle rangers. I am looking forward to an awesome year! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Pilot Owls or how to use us as a resource!
What are Pilot Owls?
