Florida Atlantic University has selected The Work Number service from Equifax to help provide automated income and employment verifications. The Work Number from Equifax helps privately and quickly provide automated income and employment verifications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Are you applying for credit, leasing or renting, financing a purchase, or applying for government services? If yes, we’ve made it easier for you to get proof of income or employment. The Work Number from Equifax, which is a simple, quick, and more private way to help get your employment and income information to companies when needed.

When asked for proof of employment or income, just send them to:

How do I login to The Work Number?
  • Start by going to https://employees.theworknumber.com
  • Select “Log In” and follow the simple prompts
  • Enter the Employer code 4651675
  • If this is your first time – pick “Register Now”

If a returning user – enter your username and password you set up.

The screen prompts will walk you through all the steps to help verify your identity and keep your account private while offering helpful messages if you have problems

FAU Students and Faculty on a Deferred Payment Plan:
The Work Number may not have up-to-date payroll information on file for students or faculty on deferred pay. You may create an account with The Work Number, but if you experience employment or pay discrepancy issues, an HR WARC team member is ready to assist you. More Privacy

Your personal information is protected. With your consent, your personal data can be retrieved only by credentialed verifiers.

Better Service

The Work Number is available to those needing your information 24 hours a day. No waiting for your lender or landlord to exchange paperwork with your employer to help close the deal.

Consent

You authorize credentialed verifiers to retrieve your income information by signing a borrowers authorization form, an application for a benefit (such as a loan or social service request), or by creating a salary key (a onetime access code).

Security

The Work Number database uses stringent security standards to help protect your data. There are also controls in place by law (the Fair Credit Reporting Act) to help protect your privacy.

Another plus with The Work Number service is it lets you check to make sure your information is correct. The Employment Data Report (EDR) is required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) so you can see your personal information and who was provided that information.

MESSAGE TO THE VERIFIER

The Work Number verifications are completed in a private and streamlined manner — 24 hours a day/7 day a week.

  • The Work Number helps protect sensitive employee information by credentialing all Verifiers prior to system use, authenticating the Verifier at login, requiring the Verifier to have valid permissible purpose for requesting/receiving the data, and monitoring Verifier activity to help ensure compliance with the above safeguards.
  • The Work Number is governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which ensures that employees can see who is requesting their data and provides a mechanism to dispute data that they believe to be inaccurate.
  • Employment and Income Verifications – Verify someone's employment, income or work history.
  • Social Service Verifications - Determine someone's eligibility for government assistance.

Who is considered a Verifier?

Typically, credentialed lending institutions, property managers, government agencies or other organizations with a permissible purpose to help verify employment or income of an employee.
