Updated Notice of Proposed Changes to Housing Rates
February 21, 2024 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University will present proposed revisions to the University’s housing rental rates for final approval by the FAU Board of Trustees at its full board meeting on March 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. The meeting will take place virtually and can be accessed by selecting the “Remote BOT Meetings Channel” at www.fau.edu/bot.
This meeting, including presentation of the proposed revisions, was rescheduled from its original date of Jan. 30, 2024.
A rent increase of 5% (based on overall system average increase) per year for the next three academic years is proposed. This rent increase would be the first housing rate increase in eight years. For more information on the rental rates, please refer to the Housing and Residential Education website.
Since 2016, operating costs, including utilities, materials and labor costs have increased significantly. The proposed housing rate increase will allow Florida Atlantic to continue to provide quality services and enhance the experience of residential students, as well as support significant capital investments to housing facilities.
