Global ambassadors program

The Global Ambassadors Program demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the Center for Global Engagement, which seeks global engagement and outreach initiatives. The Global Student Ambassadors are outstanding student leaders representing both the international student community and the FAU Center for Global Engagement at university and community events. They play a vital role in various outreach initiatives and in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for international and domestic students.

• Attend and take part in training sessions and leadership conferences.
• Serve on panels, interviews, outreach initiatives, focus groups, and media projects for the campus and community at large.
• Assist new international students as they complete orientation tasks.
• Support programming and initiatives for prospective & current international students and the FAU community.
• Work with other ambassadors on projects to amplify the visibility, voices, and contributions of the FAU international community as a whole.
• Promote and participate in events sponsored by the FAU Center for Global Engagement.
• Provide information about campus life, answer students' questions, and share your FAU experiences.

• Must be a full-time student, maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, and uphold FAU’s Student Code of Conduct.
• Must be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills, especially when communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds.
• Must have a strong desire to help international students and the growth of the FAU community.

• Must commit to the position for one academic year (a minimum of one semester can be accepted if you graduate next semester).
• Must commit to supporting at least five events per semester.
• Must attend the mandatory training and monthly meetings.
• The duration of the Ambassador position for the 2024-2025 academic year is August 17, 2024 – April 30, 2025.

• Enhance your leadership, teamwork, and public speaking abilities.
• Involvement in campus events and international education opportunities at FAU.
• Strengthen your intercultural communication skills.
• Add meaningful volunteer and leadership experience to your resume and earn service learning/volunteer hours.
• Network with other FAU students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
• Attain an FAU Global Ambassador certificate of participation.
• Earn a scholarship of $1,000 per semester (Fall and Spring).

• The 2024-2025 academic year application is now open until August 5, 2024.
• Open to all currently enrolled FAU students who have participated in the International Friends Program (IFP) for at least one semester as a Peer Mentor. 
• Ambassadors are selected based on their application and interview process.
• The selected Global Student Ambassadors will be announced by August 15, 2024.
