How to Support Students
We look for partners across FAU's campuses to help connect and encourage students for prestigious fellowship opportunities. We've highlighted a few ways faculty and staff can get involved.
Nominate a Student
You may recommend a student by submitting the following nomination form. Please include any information as to why they are a promising student and let us know if you have a specific award in mind, but this is not a requirement. We will work to connect students with the appropriate opportunities. We are looking for students with a strong academic track record and demonstrated involvement in areas such as research, community engagement, campus leadership, public service, teaching or language study, and more. Students are more likely to consider fellowships when they’ve been encouraged by a trusted mentor. A confirmation e-mail will be sent once your referral has been received.
Mentor a Student
Students who are applying for competitive fellowships benefit tremendously from faculty and staff support. If you can, consider mentoring a student, providing feedback on application essays, writing a strong letter of recommendation, or connecting them with an international collaborator in your network.
Serve on a Committee
Many nationally competitive fellowships require that candidates be nominated, endorsed or interviewed by a campus committee. If you’d like to serve on one of those committees, please let us know by emailing fellowships@fau.edu.
