Overview

Smart Suction is specifically designed to innovate postoperative recovery for thoracic surgery patients. Most patients experience a pneumothorax after undergoing pulmonary surgery; this is a complication where air leaking from the lung leads to its collapse and extends hospital stays. Smart Suction's primary feature is the first-of-its-kind AI-driven dynamic adjustment of chest tube suction levels based on real-time vitals like heart rate and oxygen saturation. Smart Suction automatically facilitates lung re-expansion and expedites the healing process for air leaks without human intervention. The system wirelessly integrates with existing medical equipment to collect patient vitals to augment continuous monitoring and data collection. This will ultimately improve patient outcomes by reducing hospital stays and medical expenses.
