Mimik (Voice Cloning)
Overview
The aim of this project is to address the language barrier that individuals with heavy accents face while communicating with native English speakers. This language barrier can result in a range of issues, such as obstacles in accessing healthcare and employment, and may affect individuals' self-worth and sense of belonging. Our team plans to develop an application that enables smooth communication.
Community Benefit
The impact this project has is significant for niche groups of people. It can be used in the entertainment domain to help develop things like games or even movies without the need for a human voice actor. Apart from entertainment, this sort of technology is capable of improving communication between people who may have thick accents and dampen the accent so that it is more articulate and comprehensible.
