Autonomous Surf-Zone Inspection Vehicle
Overview
Through the vehicles autonomous and RC functions, the user is able to drive the vehicle to any desired location on shore and set that location as its home base, then perform any of the desired pre-programmed missions. Once the mission is completed the vehicle returns to its home base coordinates on shore. During each mission and manual control, the vehicle stores and relays system health information as well as live camera footage to the user on shore.
Community Benefit
This vehicle prototype will prove to be beneficial in a number of applications such as inspection of structures or pipes, coral / sediment / wildlife identification, mine detection, archaeological explorations, and much more.
